Georgia High School Closes 8 Days After Reopening, Confirms 14 Coronavirus Cases
It’s been over eight-month to the schools and colleges of being closed. Georgia was one of the countries that took the decision to reopen schools as education is an important part of our life but this time nothing is more important than health or life. The COVID-19 crisis itself taught this to the people. The Georgia government closed the schools just after eight days of reopening of the schools.
As per the reports, The Cherokee County School District situated forty miles north of the Atlanta announced on Tuesday about the closing of the schools. On Tuesday, Superintendent brian Hightower announced about the closing of the schools and said that school found 14 COVID-19 positive cases while 15 tests were supposed to be conducted. Superintendent says as per the confirmed cases 294 students and staff members are under quarantine. Overall, the district marked 59 confirmed positive cases.
As per the district reports, a total of 1,156 students and 37 staff members are under quarantine in the district. Hightower has warned especially high schools, predominately high schools have more cases in comparison of others.
The district has more than 40 schools and centres, 4,800 teachers and employees, and over 42,200 students. The students and teachers of these schools have spotted without masks and social distancing that is really foolishness in this tough time when the entire world is talking to wear masks and for making social distancing to control the spread.
Last week, Cherokee high school gained much popularity on the internet as the maskless pictures were shared by the netizens and those pictures were a high shock for the entire world as the rules and regulations were being ruined. The group of the senior students of the school click pictures where they could see gathering all together without social distancing and masks in black uniform. On July 9, the reopening plan of the schools was accepted by the administration and the parents were given choice online or in-person where masks were required but not necessary.
