The US attack on the two cities of Japan, Hiroshima and Nagasaki still vibrates us and especially Japanese who are still going through with the pain that America gave in 1945. This Saturday, on 9th August Nagasaki, marked the 75th anniversary. The Japanese mayor and dwindling survivors are making a request to the world leaders to ban nuclear weapons they just not forced to the world leader but also their own.
Nagasaki citizens who survived in the attack or other participants stood for a minute silence to honour more than 70,000 people lost their lives in the attack. The attack on Nagasaki came into the light just after three days of the exploitation on Hiroshima by the United States. The attack on Hiroshima took place on 6th August 1945 while the second nuclear attack was done by the United States on 9th August.
It was the first-ever attack on the earth that has taken lives of almost 140,o00 innocents. This nuclear attack forced Japan to surrender and the world war II came to an end. The event of Nagasaki Peace Park was attended by few people in comparison to past years and it happened due to the current active pandemic in the world. The mayor Tomihisa Taue talked about a peace declaration and also inflated the concern of atomic power extending in today’s time.
Taue says in his speech, the concern and the threat of the atomic bomb is increasing and being used by many countries it is getting real by the time, in view to it that Nuclear Proliferation Treaty came into the effect before 50 years. He added that the real terror of nuclear hasn’t been reached at a large level. He said that Nagasaki should be the last place to experience this terrible moment of life.
He tried to convene the Japan government and lawmakers to sign the 2017 Treaty on the prohibition of Nuclear power. After being a part of the ceremony Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe criticised the treaty for not being realistic. He said n0ne of the atomic country has signed there and also it hasn’t been accepted by non-nuclear countries.
Many people who suffered the pain of the nuclear attack keep wishing that Nagasaki should be the last place to suffer this terrible moment as it exploited the entire cities badly and due to the radiations the deaths were kept taking place for many months. If we roughly assume so both cities witnessed half of the deaths on the same day of the exploitation and the great number of people were continued to die for over months.
